About the Directory

ABOUT THE SCOTTISH DIRECTORY for the PACIFIC NORTHWEST

The purpose of the Directory is to help develop and improve communication and collaboration within the Scottish community in the Pacific Northwest.  We believe that such development and improvement will benefit the Scottish community itself and, in turn, the community in general.

The Directory provides descriptive and contact information on the many Scottish organizations which operate in the Pacific Northwest (which for our purposes we define as Alaska, Idaho, Oregon & Washington).  Availability of this information facilitates communication between people in the organizations (generally volunteers) and between them and the public at large.  We believe this increase in communication will lead to better sharing of knowledge, better coordination of efforts and possible collaborations between organizations to tackle common problems.

The Directory has proven to be of assistance to those actively involved, or who want to be involved, in Scottish activities.  That’s why it was created.  However, any suggestions you have to make the Directory more complete and/or more useful will be very much appreciated.  Please let us know of other groups or features you would like to see included.

Being listed in the Directory makes you and your organization better known and more readily accessible to the many others involved in Scottish activities in our area.  And… having a copy of the Directory provides you this same access to those ‘many others’.
