The Scottish Coalition-USA established Tartan Day in America in 1997. It is now officially recognized at Federal level & by many States. This is an important event, on an important date, for Scottish Americans to recognize. Tartan Day commemorates the huge contribution Scots and Americans of Scottish blood made to not only the development of the United States, but to the very concept of the States being united. Tartan Day brings a modern touch to ancient traditions
which bind yet today, the people of Scotland, America, Canada and other
countries.
